Pack n' Prep

I can't believe it but tomorrow we're leaving on our honeymoon. Geez where did August, September, and October go?? Tomorrow we depart for Paris, France for five days which will be followed by two-day stays in Annecy, France and Montreux, Switzerland. After Montreux we will be heading to Zurich for one day before flying out of the Zurich airport.

As you might expect, the last day or so has been busy with preparations. Namely, getting the house clean and ready for the two people who will be staying with and caring for Haruki, buying any necessary toiletries and odds and ends, and just generally getting all of our shit in order.

This afternoon, for instance, I spent several hours vacuuming, sweeping, wiping things, and doing about sixteen loads of laundry. Now all I have to do is pack. Heh. Throughout these trying times I've been relying on some tried and true favorites to power me through. These include:

My staple dinner as of late: brown rice, roasted veg (in this case zucchini), aduki beans, and parmesan cheese.

Those lovely fruity and bubbly Kombuchas:

And this baby:

60% dark chocolate is my way of pretending to eat chocolate for the antioxidants. Because, let's face it, if I was eating it for the antioxidants and not for the sugar and fat, I'd eat 85% chocolate. 60% chocolate is still technically "dark," and it's about the lowest percent cacao that you can buy in Boulder without being publicly shamed for causing the obesity epidemic. (By the way, what obesity epidemic? People don't seem so PLUMP in Boulder. Ugh.) If I'm ever seen eating milk chocolate then it means that I've given up hope on life and should probably be closely monitored around chocolate, cake, and pizza.

Anyhow, I will be sorry to miss Thanksgiving in the US, and I'll be thinking really nice thoughts about all my bff readers eating poor, innocently slaughtered turkeys next Thursday. Just kidding. I've got no room to talk since my cheese consumption during the next week will not only likely surpass my lifetime cheese consumption, but it will also single handedly ensure the perpetuation of the global dairy farming market.

But really, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, and I will be back with regular programming on Monday, November 26. Between now and then I hope to pop in with some pics and updates, however, so DO NOT DESPAIR!

*Any requests for things I should eat/do/see and then photograph and blog about?**

**(Excepting those things that might be illegal or that might result in bodily injuries to sensitive places.)***

***(Unless those things involves David's bizness--that's okay and fair play.)

  2. I'm so jealous!! Although, I have Paris saved as one of the locations in my weather app and is it ever not cool, cloudy and rainy there?! Hope you don't mind that kind of weather! I always wanted to be a Parisian and sip coffee while eating a croissant, sitting at some cafe. You can do it for me if you want. HAVE FUN!
